We are hiring two people for the technical team in Dili. Both roles work across the group's contracts rather than a single project, and both split their time between the drawing board and the site.

Full time
Architect
Dili, Timor-Leste·Mid-level, 3 to 5 years of experience
We are looking for an architect with three to five years on construction projects. You will work across the design studio and the site, from concept through to handover, making sure that what is drawn can actually be built, on budget and to standard.
What you'll do
Prepare architectural design packages: concept, design development, and construction drawings.
Resolve technical issues that come up during construction and propose buildable solutions.
Coordinate with structural and MEP consultants and integrate their input into the architectural set.
Review shop drawings and material submissions from subcontractors.
Prepare material and finishing specifications, and support Bill of Quantities preparation.
Visit sites to check that construction follows the drawings and meets the quality standard.
Make sure designs comply with Timor-Leste building regulations and permit requirements.
Support the project team in client meetings and in dealings with local authorities.
What you'll bring
Education: A bachelor's degree (S1 or Licenciatura) in architecture from a recognised institution.
Experience: Three to five years on construction projects, or inside a project-based company such as a contractor, a design-build firm or a developer.
Software: AutoCAD is essential, plus SketchUp and either Revit or another BIM platform.
A working understanding of structural and MEP drawings, and of how they coordinate with the architecture.
A portfolio showing built work, not renders alone.
Willingness to work on site, not only from the office.
Languages: Tetum and English, written and spoken. Bahasa Indonesia is a strong advantage.
Strong coordination skills, and the ability to run several projects to deadline.

Professional architect certification, for example the Indonesian STRA or SKK Arsitek, or the equivalent registration from another ASEAN country.
Previous work at a design-build or main contractor rather than a design-only studio.

Navisworks for clash detection, or MS Project for programming.
Experience on government-funded or donor-funded projects.
MEP Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing)
Dili, Timor-Leste·Junior to mid-level, 2 to 3 years of experience
We are looking for an MEP engineer with two to three years on construction projects. You will carry the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems on our contracts, from design review through to installation, testing and handover. The job suits someone who can read a drawing and also direct an installation crew on site. It is not an office-only role.
What you'll do
Review and prepare MEP design packages: electrical systems, water supply and drainage, air conditioning, and fire protection.
Carry out basic engineering calculations: electrical load, pipe and duct sizing, and lighting levels.
Coordinate the MEP design with the architectural and structural drawings, and settle clashes before construction starts.
Supervise MEP installation on site so that it follows the drawings and the specification.
Review shop drawings and material submissions from MEP subcontractors.
Support preparation of MEP material specifications and the Bill of Quantities.
Test and commission the MEP systems before handover to the client.
Prepare as-built drawings and handover documentation.
Make sure the works meet safety standards and Timor-Leste building regulations.
What you'll bring
Education: A diploma (D3) or bachelor's degree (S1) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
Experience: Two to three years on construction projects, whether buildings, factories or infrastructure. Project delivery experience, not maintenance alone.
Software: AutoCAD is essential. Revit MEP or another BIM platform is a strong advantage.
The ability to read MEP drawings and turn them into a real installation on site.
Working knowledge of electrical installation (panels, cabling, protection), plumbing systems and air conditioning.
An understanding of site safety practice (K3 or HSE).
Willingness to work on site, not only from the office.
Languages: Tetum and English, written and spoken. Bahasa Indonesia is a strong advantage.
Good coordination skills, and the ability to deal with subcontractors and the design team.

None of this is required. It is what separates two candidates who both meet the bar above.
Professional certification such as the Indonesian SKK Konstruksi Jenjang 7 (Ahli Muda) in the mechanical classification, or the equivalent registration from another ASEAN country.
Previous work at a main contractor or design-build firm rather than a design-only consultancy.
Dialux for lighting, Navisworks for clash detection, or MS Project.
Experience with generators, solar systems or water systems for sites with no reliable mains supply.
Experience on government-funded or donor-funded projects.
